4th of July celebrations

To celebrate the 4th of July, Alaska got an early present from Sarah Palin; her resignation to the Governor office.

It is however a poisoned present. A spokeswoman speaking in regard of Palin didn’t confirmed nor took out from the table the possibility of a Palin presidential candidate for 2012. Alaskan’s -still- Governor was seen as the most probable choice for the Republicans in 2012, and this decision looks like a step further in the presidential career for Ms. Palin.

Meanwhile, her predecessor in these fields, George W. Bush, decided to spend his first 4th of July in eight years in a warm environment where he could feel like at home: among cows. Literally.

Obama too spent his first 4th of July as President with the family. Understandable, as it was his daughter Malia’s birthday. And it’s always good to have a relaxed weekend just before a trip to Russia. That will be tough.

Oh, and finally, they aren’t Kim Jong-il’s missiles, but fireworks in Hawaii are always beautiful:
